Dependency, Not Poverty

williams2I could think of little else than what has happened to Detroit over the last five decades while reading this piece.

Since President Lyndon Johnson declared war on poverty, the nation has spent about $18 trillion at the federal, state and local levels of government on programs justified by the “need” to deal with some aspect of poverty.

I think of what has been spent in Detroit alone, and we see where that has gone.

Facts speak loud and clear, and will do so again as the medicaid expansion forces Michiganians to choose insurance for health care or advance their living conditions.
