A21 In Action – The Delphi Process

A perfect example of how “visioning” works.

There is no true public input, but merely choices predetermined by organizers. If you do not like those choices, you aren’t part of the process. How simple.

Go to any local public “visioning” meeting. Suggest things like single family homes, protecting private property rights, wanting to have elected officials make recorded votes in open meetings, decreasing taxes and regulations, etc. You will find much the same response and a very cold shoulder. Also important to know who is facilitating the meeting, who they work for, and how they are paid. Also make note how many people at the meeting work for the government and in what capacity (paid bureaucrat, elected official, unelected board member of some organization).

You will also find none of your suggestion make it into the vision….how interesting.

  • Edward Bernays utopian societal views seems to have gotten a new, more forceful lease on life.
