Families Deserve Better than Near-Record Number of Special Interest Attempts to Deceive Voters, Hijack Constitution
Confusing, Deceptive Attacks the Most Seen in 34 Years
Lansing, MI—Citizens Protecting Michigan’s Constitution (CPMC), a diverse group of job providers, taxpayers and organizations today pledged to stand-up for taxpayers and Michigan’s working families after more special interest groups than at any time in the last 34 years filed petitions with the Secretary of State in an effort to place Constitutional amendments on the November ballot.
“Michigan’s working families and our state constitution face more special interest attacks this fall than at any time in the last 34 years. These brazen attempts to deceive voters and hijack Michigan’s constitution would line the pockets of narrow special interest groups at taxpayers’ expense.
“Taxpayers, job providers and working families deserve better than deceptive politics and shameful attempts to confuse voters. For the sake of our families, our economy and our constitution, it is time we stand up and say “no!” in a voice loud enough that it will be 34 more years before anyone tries hijacking our constitution again.”
