John Pastor (R) Introduced in December 2007 this resolution. ..It seems the MEDC needs to broaden it’s energies to move business in from OUT of state.. (we’ve had this discussion)
Film Production companies have at least 20 bills at last count. (they are spread around throughout different legislative sections, and it appears every legislator has a version to consider.) Yep.. Everbody wants their 15 minutes of fame. Oh.. and by the way, the National Guard may have to find another place to train, Graying is occupied (or could be) by a production company making an anti war film. Maybe next weekend?
Oh (as an incandescent bulb flashes over my head) don’t forget to ask congress to protect us from… uh.. congress.
OMG… see above tidbit for the answer to this one?
Hmmm mini tort law.. this increase continues a law initiated in 1979 if I recall correctly. The purpose of the original law was to limit damages to $400 so that insurance companies would “just take care of it,” but never offered any protection of same for people who were “self insured.” (read no insurance) $1500 is better than the current $500 for damages, but in reality while making a few less court cases, it hurts those who can only afford PLPD, and are NOT at fault in an accident. (remind me to tell you my experience with this)
There is more.. but my brain hurts after looking at all of the ways our legislators have been keeping busy. Maybe later…
