Perhaps we could look into setting maximum amounts spent by our state through a ballot initiative. Perhaps tying the hands of our legislators IS what is needed. They need rules that WE have set to go by, and maybe we need to hold them to the state’s constitution as well. (which was not done in the process which started this fiasco)
The “representative” process seems to be a little off, when certain agents for the people interpret a sigh of resignation as an open endorsement for higher taxes. It symbolizes the “disconnect” our leadership has when given the power to regulate and tax.
When our Governor GIVES TAXPAYER MONEY to Quicken loans or other business to move it’s operation around WITHIN the state… Maybe we need to say through a constitutional measure that corporate sponsorship through taxpayer fund is NOT ALLOWED, and special interests which will undoubtedly award our CORRUPT GOVERNOR and some CORRUPT legislators after they leave.shall NOT RECEIVE MICHIGAN TAXPAYER FUNDS.
“The price of liberty is eternal vigilance;” a phrased coined by Thomas Jefferson never rang truer.
