ALEXANDRIA, Va. – ForAmerica Chairman L. Brent Bozell III today sent a letter to Congressional appropriators calling on them to defund the office within the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that is charged with enforcing provisions of Obamacare. Bozell also calls for scrutiny into the role played by the IRS’s employees union in the targeting and potential coordination with the White House.
Excerpts from the letter:
“Given the IRS’s heavy handed role in Obamacare implementation, and given that the person currently assigned to oversee that implementation is none other than Sarah Hall Ingram, Congress must act to put an end to the IRS’s role in Obamacare. Ms. Ingram is the same individual who oversaw and allowed the targeting of conservative and Tea Party groups.
“Despite news reports revealing that Ms. Ingram played a huge role in the IRS’s targeting of conservatives and the Tea Party, the White House is standing by her and the role she will play in Obamacare’s implementation and enforcement as the Director of the IRS Affordable Care Act Office…
“Additionally, the role in this sordid episode played by the IRS’s employees union has barely been explored and the timeline suggests that there may have been coordination between the union and The White House in the IRS’s targeting of conservative and Tea Party organizations.”
