I had to take a break from my own campaign for a couple days so I could cover two important campaign events in the region.
The first event, last night at the Helena TWP hall in Alden Michigan covered the 37th state senate race, the 105th state representatives race, and a contest which has nation exposure written all over it, the 1st congressional district for a seat once occupied by Brat Stupak.
One thing to note is the crowd was larger than the organizer may have expected, requiring a few additional carts of chairs to be wheeled in prior to starting. the event could indeed be called a success, drawing both members of the immediate community, and many from other parts of the region as well. WMKT AM 1270 and the Elk Rapids news sponsored the event, and it was simulcast on 1270 AM to an audience approximated to be up to 5000.
The video below is merely an introduction to the series I will be posting as the processing of the video is done.
The 86th District court’s impending vacancy has drawn out 5 qualified contenders. This forum was sponsored by the League of Women voters, and the local Bar. There were approximately 130 attendees in the room that was originally equipped for 80. The local cable system broadcast it live, and will be re-broadcasting it in its entirety, but I will also be posting a series that covers the judge race on RightMichigan.com as THOSE videos are processed.
ALL Videos will be available in full 1080p resolution.
Please feel free to locate the the judicial contests where you are, and upload video as well!
