“There is a real question on the integrity of the election,” said Wilson.  “Litigation to overturn the results and force a new vote or a full paper recount is a real possibility.  There appears to be a substantive equal protection claim here.”

According to the Gouverneur Times, a computer virus could have skewed the results in the entire special election Bill Owens was thought to have won: “The computerized voting machines used by many voters in the 23rd district had a computer virus – tainting the results, not just from those machines known to have been infected, but casting doubt on the accuracy of counts retrieved from any of the machines.”
