I am interested in a bus to dc on sept11 and returning on the 13th. Please phone me at 517-xxx-xxxx with information. thank you
I have saved your number if I am contacted by someone who is willing to run another trip.
J. Gillman
If a person were to drive on to Interstate 270 in Maryland, what would be the earliest exit numbers to get off to get a motel, and be able to catch the train or subway into Washington DC, and where would it leave me off in Washington. I would be willing to ride the train into DC from 30 minutes out or more. Also times and cost of the train would be helpful at various locations heading for DC. Other e-mail writers who can’t get the bus but still want to go would be interested in this information.
Thank you.
Anyone?
Hey J Gillman,
Will you take down my number if you hear of another bus? Thanks
xxx-xxx-xxxx
We have a bus with 30 seats left leaving Midland at 10 p.m. on Sept. 10 with a pick up in Fenton too headed to D.C. for the Taxpayers March on Washington. Prices are $165, $150, $140 for double, triple and quad occupancy. We need to fill the bus by Friday, 9/4. Please go to http://www.wethepeopleofmidmichigan.org to find a form and reserve a spot to travel with other patriots from Michigan.
One can only hope that the information which arnold (directly above) and many others of us out here seek is available ‘somewhere’ (hopefully) through the organizers of this event. If we are not able to receive basic information as to how we can all get there on our own…how are we to expect that the event will be properly organized when and if we get there?
Don’t get me wrong…I appreciate what is being done here and don’t fault the people of this site for graciously allowing these link-ups to happen…yet protest organizers need to posess at least the basic organizing skills required to give popular sites like this a fighting chance to get the word out.
In other words (to event organizers and NOT the owners or administrators of this site), just because your OWN seat on the bus is assured…there are just as many people (or more) visiting these sites; noticing that even the most basic of questions are going unanwered surrounding alternate transportation/access points…and being turned off by it.
Again, at least initially prove to us that you can handle the job of throwing this party…or many of us will simply feel that if they attend…it all may just be one big unorganized mess that they’ve been thrown in to that is uncomfortably far from our homes.
Thank you for the job that this site has done to match those lucky enough to receive a seat and may God Bless the rally.
Appreciate the critique.
What you are seeing is truly the tip of the iceberg as far as interest. I get several emails directly as well. As to questions unanswered, we are fortunate to have a veteran DC driver for our trip and our hotel arrangements have been set for weeks.
As for the DC organization, I would suggest not trying to over think it.. If you are traveling there, expect there will be between 500,000 to One million folks showing up. If you are going, get your room NOW. Your hotel may have a shuttle going to the national mall, and Googling “parking in DC” may bring up some parking plans you can work with..
I suggest bringing snacks, as there will be vendors, but there will also be MORE people. ALSO.. Bring a small trash bag for your refuse.. we will not be trashing up the place like the inaugural crowd.
I was wondering what time and place in Ann Arbor will the bus be picking people up? I want to go to the march and rally. Please advise also on the cost of the bus trip and hotel. I already have my sign made up so I hope to see everyone…
Have you found a bus yet? We still have seats available. Please visit http://www.wethepeopleofmidmichigan.org Need to finalize plans first thing in the morning (tues.) Thanks.
Google the Marriot in Vienna, VA. (directly west of D.C.).
Direct rail access right across the street.
Supposedly, the ‘orange’ line runs to within one block south of the site.
$119.00 w/tax (internet).
jgillman:
Do you have a pickup site yet for the Brighton stop of 912 TC to DC bus? Estimated time? How about exchanging cell phone numbers?
Thanks for your excellent work.
I am interested in going (total party of four) – can you please send me info on the bus trip, hotel info, and all other pertintent info. Thanks…
Ed, Please go to http://www.wethepeopleofmidmichigan.org or you can email me directly at tlchyatt@tm.net I am the organizer for the bus leaving Midland Thursday eve. at 10 p.m. also stopping in Fenton just south of Flint. Prices are $165, $150, $140 depending on if you choose double, triple or quad occupancy. If there are 4 of you and you stay in one room it would be $140 each. The hotel we are staying at has hot breakfast included with your stay. Please, I need to know by late tonight or early tomorrow if this bus is a “go”. I have 26 nervous patriots waiting to know if they have a ride to D.C. Thanks. Tammy
I was just checking to see if it is too late to join a bus stopping in Lansing, Mi going to DC for the 9-12 protest. It would be 1-2 people. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Martha B
I am interested in going to Washington, D.C. could you let me know how many seats are available, costs, will there be any hotel accomodations, and times of departure and return?
Ed,
I think you can get seats on the bus leaving Midland on Thursday night. Tammy Hyatt is trying to fill a third bus and has 10 to 20 seats available. That’s the one I plan on going on but we need to fill the bus. (See Tammy Hyatt’s post earlier in this thread at Sept 3, 11:30 pm).
Is there still room on the bus to DC from either Brighton or Ann Arbor. What is cost?
Hi, I wrote on the 7th which i realize is very short notice, I didn’t see a reply. I just wondered if by any chance there might be a seat left on a bus stopping in Lansing, MI. I have the $ to pay for my seat. If anyone has room and could give me any details it would be great.
