Ray Schoenke, the guy in the "Obama loves gun owners" advertisements..

I previously discussed an ad which had a “gun owner” Now airing in PA and Michigan.  The apparent speaker of the ad is the president of a “hunter and shooter” organization.  Wow! that lends credibility!  Or Does it.  While many might be taken aback that such a thing could happen I suggest it drives home a larger point that Democrats will sacrifice anything to get their guy in office.  Here is the advertisement and a follow up of what this guy is about.

Barack Obama: I’m Barack Obama, candidate for president, and I approved this message.

Ray Schoenke: This is Ray Schoenke. I played football with the Washington Redskins. Now I’m president of the American Hunters and Shooters Association. It’s important to me that our next President protects our Second Amendment rights to own guns and defend ourselves.

Barack Obama and John McCain will both make sure we can keep our guns.

But what about keeping our jobs?

Barack’s got a real plan that invests in creating jobs here at home and cuts taxes a thousand bucks for working families.

John McCain?

I saw a lot of cheap shots in my day…

But McCain’s false attacks on Obama are just a fake to hide the ball. His plan sells out American workers.

McCain will keep giving tax breaks to companies that ship our jobs overseas.

And he’ll look the other way while China breaks our trade deals.

It’s the same old Bush playbook.

Look, when the coach loses eight years in a row, you don’t bring him back for a ninth season!

We just can’t afford more of the same.

WOW  Gun rights folks standing up for O-WHO? It must be true!!  umm but wait!  American Hunters and Shooters Association is a group which started in 2006.  2 years ago?  about the time it was clear O-Who was a serious contender.  So we know who Ray Schoenke is, the BRADY CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT GUN VIOLENCE – VOTER EDUCATION FUND received a $5,000.00 donation from MR Shooter and Hunter himself in 2000, and is as well a funder for Democratic candidates, and a lifelong Democrat. Surprised?

The American Hunters and Shooters organization appears to be a front group for green interests, and is absolutlely NOT a second amendment supporter.  They chastise the NRA for failing to represent hunters, and also seem to be attempting to convince some NRA members to join.  Unknowing arms enthusiasts be wary, this is NOT a group, in my opinion, which has gun owners best interests at heart, but is merely an attempt to subvert real issues away from conservatives and second amendment supporters.

Michigan?  Are you paying attention?

It reminds me of “Veterans Against the War,” who failed to mention in their advertising that the vast majority of their membership are not veterans.

Real gunowners and 2nd Amendment supporters can see through political hacks like this guy. It would be like Eleanor Smeal starting a supposed pro-life organization – give me a break!

I heard the ad today on the radio – my first thought was, Ya- Right – Ommmbama is going to let me keep a gun.

But make no mistake, Gun Rights are a top level issue in MI.

I think I will keep mine.
