Stephen King to Film in MI?

It seems Our producer in chief is scoring a big win with the state film office finding a remote “time kissed” cabin on a lake, surrounded by tall trees in Leelanau county, for King’s newest now predictable fare.

stephenking.jpg King recently was quoted as saying “The fact is if you can read, you can walk into a job later on. If you don’t, then you’ve got the Army, Iraq, I don’t know, something like that,” while stressing the importance of reading at the Library of Congress on April 4.

Though I am not sure if he meant to slight the military, he has received quite a bit of criticism for his blatant remarks and has not backed down from them in the face of that same criticism. The lack of an apology for his apparent sense of disregard for that which allows his type of writing to even exist, suggests he is no different than those other elitists who have lost a sense of duty to country.

I don’t want them here. They have the right to be here, but I don’t think it is appropriate to pay them to be here. The film credit law SUCKs. It is A. Inappropriate for a state to offer excessive breaks for an industry which promises little permanent infrastructure growth, and B. Merely rewards those such as King who consistently disrespect the heroes who have made their “art” possible. Imagine the movie industry if sharia law were in place… oh yeah.. WHAT MOVIE INDUSTRY?
