n.

    1. A group of cattle or other domestic animals of a single kind kept together for a specific purpose. Or a group of cattle with a single mind, much like those who follow blindly while union leadership nips at their heels to move them to the grazing fields of Indiana.

    2. A number of wild animals of one species that remain together as a group: a herd of elephants. Or a herd of miscreants, who with the blessing of a particular Michigan legislative leader will stampede over law abiding petitioners.

    3. A large number of people; a crowd: a herd of stranded passengers. Or stranded Michiganders watching the ship sail.

    4. The multitude of common people regarded as a mass: “It is the luxurious and dissipated who set the fashions which the herd so diligently follow” (Henry David Thoreau). It is the promiscuous intellectual elite who round up the disadvantaged who so diligently believe in them to a point of perpetual squalor (your’s truly).

“Herding” seems to be the modus operandi of liberal and socialist (kissing cousins) alike. As each particular “crisis” arises, one particular segment will nip at the heels of the straggling (cow, sheep, ..uh..)to keep them in a grouping for “safety.” The Shepherd (Granholm in Michigan) guides the (Flock, group, uh.. victims) with Border Collies, Shelties, Cow dogs, etc.. (Union bosses, Public School Teachers, uh.. Environmentalists) by having each design a mini crisis to turn the stragglers and move them in the desired direction.

Occasionally, the Dogs mis-step and are trampled.
