Favorable business tax structure in Michigan?

By

I was browsing around the Michigan Economic Development Corporation website, and found this little blurb.

You’re in good company if you’re starting a business venture in Michigan. In fact, Michigan ranks in the Top 10 States for Small Business, according to Fortune Small Business. Starting a business here means you get the Upper Hand – due to:

* a business environment that fosters innovation
* the availability of a talented and motivated workforce
* low cost of living and doing business
* a favorable business tax structure
* good public policy
* business development resources and expertise to help you succeed

Favorable tax structure, riiiiight…

    Let me point out one at a time..
    “a business environment that fosters innovation” Ok, yes that is VERY TRUE… you MUST innovate or perish.. and sometimes innovate AND perish.

    “the availability of a talented and motivated workforce” Also true.. Michigan’s talent is only a State away.. in Indiana..

    “low cost of living and doing business” Not sure about doing business, but property values continue to plummet, so… lower cost something.

    “good public policy” So says the policy writer…

    “business development resources and expertise to help you succeed” Only a few mouse clicks away ..in India.
