It’s about overall structure. Michigan’s structure is such that any new manufacturing business seeking a home would NEVER think of landing here without sufficient bribery to it’s top decision makers.
For the presidential candidates working their way throughout the state, do us this favor.. Learn from this “One State” Recession, and realize that there is no good end to heightened welfare, jobs programs that don’t work, and unreasonable regulative environments where business cannot take root. Federal policies don’t MAKE jobs, but rather hinder growth and cause the larger corporations to leave the country. At the same time smaller companies must fight through endless bureaucracies and many give up before they are truly able to add to our overall greatness.
Michigan is a lesson. It shows how even the best people in the world can be stopped cold by the poor economic and socio-economic decision making of our policy makers. Too much tampering, when market based solutions will correct the worst of problems if given a chance. So stop telling me what you’ll do for Michigan. Tell me you’ll commit to stopping the DO-ERS before they DO us in.
