Friends Who Know They Are

From what could be an otherwise uncomfortable situation, I have found the true nature of friendship in a way that has made me quite comfortable indeed.

You showed up to do what I could not do on my own behalf.  You took time from your own evening and spent it at a government meeting.

Even those of you who could not be there with some others who spoke to my nature, or character, I received your support in other ways.

Thank you.

This is something I will not forget. Ever.

With all due respect, YOU created the “uncomfortable situation” by your self-acknowledged rant at the Grand Traverse County Health Department.

I noted that of the seven individuals commenting at the Feb. 23rd Board meeting on your “nature or character”, three did not reside in the County, and three more didn’t even reside in your Commission district.

Only one voter from YOUR County Commission District managed to show up and speak on your behalf (of over 4700 voters casting votes in your district last November.) Not much of a groundswell of support two months into your term.

I did no such thing as acknowledge “a rant.” I had a private conversation. If you rely on the Record Eagle’s inaccurate reporting, then there is going to be little I can do to sway you.

I do however acknowledge your counting of character supporters as being relevant based on geography.

      Thank you.
