Traverse City Tea Party Events

April 9, 2009
By

I am going to be on the bus headed to Lansing (still a few seats left) But Traverse City will still have some Tea Party Activity happening..

Matt Schoech has updated the below information for the traverse City events.

TEA Party Anyone?

Wednesday, April 15th is Income Tax deadline day and at 11:30 am the first of at least 3 TEA day rallies will begin in Traverse City. Historically, there have been some citizens who have marked that day by Rallying in front of the Union Street Post Office.   Past rallies have been for lower taxes, a flat tax, FairTax, against the FED and IRS, TRIM (Tax Reform Immediately), and other noteworthy causes by a wide variety of individuals and interest groups.  The post office is popular because it is a federal building with greater free speech protection.  It has high visibility via foot traffic and automobile traffic, many of which will be traveling to the post office to mail in their yearly INCOME TAX PAYMENT.  (contact Matt S. )

There are other Rallies planned for this day as well.  AFA TEA Party is at the Open space next to the Marina at 12:00 noon. (contact John k. ) or, DeeAnne G.  The post office Rally, time and circumstances permitting, will walk to the Open Space at 12 noon to join with them.

Then at 5:30-6:30 pm at the Clinch Park Marina parking lot, NMCN, Northern Michigan Community Network is having a TEA Rally. (contact Cheryl W. )

THESE ARE NON-POLITICAL PARTY EVENTS AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED AS AN ENDORSEMENT
OF ANY POLITICAL PARTY.

If you or your group are concerned with your taxes going to:

<>  fund stem cell research, removal of laws forbidding funding of international birth control,
advancing abortion through government legislation of FOCA etc,  or,

<>  transshipping of U.S. Military from one war zone to another foreign theater of war or otherwise enforcing UN rules and mandates, thereby circumventing
George Washington’s advice of avoiding foreign entanglements as well as undermining
the national sovereignty of the United States,  or,

<>  Loss of property rights, federal, state and local usurpations which violate the spirit and intent
of the Declaration of Independence and the self-evident truths therein mentioned, or,

<>  Government debt in the trillions at the behest of a central bank that has no congressional oversight. or,

<>  Current administration budget for 2010 calling for a 100% increase in federal taxation, with state
governments taxing the life blood out of business owners,  or

<>  More Government debt that will be “monetized” (Money printed out of thin air) -New York Times Feb. 10, 2009  resulting in inflation (the cruelest tax of all because it steals wealth from everything denominated in dollars.  It is theft on a Grand Scale. Also called legalized plunder. Or,

<>   Maybe you just want the Federal and state government to live within the confines of a much
disregarded supreme law of the land. (U.S. Constitution)  No taxpayer financed government bailouts,
rescues, INVESTMENTS, jobs, aide, debt, etc.  Laissez-faire – Let it alone.  Follow the 10th Amendment.

<> Or, If you are on your way to Lansing or Washington D.C. to stand for the above: GOD SPEED,
and come back to help restore U.S. Constitutional order to our communities and the state.

Signs should be in good taste and germane.
The watch words for this event are:  BE COURTEOUS, BE STILL AND NON CONFRONTATIONAL, PRAY.
Remember also not to block access to the post office or wherever you TEA rally.
Enjoy the day because you are still free to: rally for tax liberation, petition a government to listen to the people, and insist on a sound economic policy.

Hey, got the scoop on the TC tea party on July 4th? Do you think that Norm Jones will talk about it? I’m planning on attending with a gang from Benzie Cty. Is there a way to highlight it on this website? I’d love to see a huge gang of us out there. THANKS!!!!

As a Financial Advisor I’m concerned what is happening this very moment in the financial services realm. There’s a concerted attempt to centralize under “One” regulatory group, the Security Exchange Commission “All” financial services. This will eliminate more of our freedom of choice and eliminate a vast majority of inexpensive financial services that are now available for middle class americans at an affortable if not no cost advise in planning our financial futures. This could be as large an issue as health care reform and yet it is not getting any attention. Stop big bureacracies before we look like nazi Germany. I’m in now that I have learned the Tea Party Group is interested in reducing big government.

I feel sorry for Bart Stupak, an eminently decent man, who served his
district and the country well for many years. Would the Tea Partyers
rather have Dave Camp, who has for years has served the rich and big
business? The insurance industry is very happy for the Tea Party!

What does “Your comment is awaiting moderation” mean?

    • jgillman on April 10, 2010 at 8:19 pm

It means that It is awaiting moderation. Because of the amount of spam comments that would appear without my approval first, it is necessary.

      I have removed your duplicates.
